The website they created was originally the agenda page, but now functions as the archive of recordings for all of the sessions. When using any of the Adobe applications above, there is no need to move your mouse down to the bottom of the Tool Bar as shown. Adobe has two (2) keyboard shortcuts that work in controlling your swatch color use, X and Shift X.

Adobe - Show All Menu Items

I was just asked "I just upgraded to CS4. InDesign menus say "Show all menu items" at the bottom. How do I make it actually show all menu items all the time?". this option showed in CS, CS2, CS3 and now in CS4

Fitting Text Frames to Content

The command Fit Frame to Content (Object > Fitting...) automatically expands or contracts a text frame to fit the text within. But you can also use some nifty double-clicks to accomplish even more.

Double-click the control handle on the bottom of the frame to force that side to expand or contract to hold the text.

Adobe - Snap Guides to Rulers

In many of the Adobe application (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop), hold down the Shift key while dragging a guide to snap to the nearest ruler mark. The cool part is that your guides snap to the visible tick marks on the ruler whatever the magnification level. Once you've tried it, you'll be using this trick every day.

Character Palette or Where is ©,•, ™ & ®

Many times I get asked "Where is the Copywrite symbol?" or Bullet or TM or or or… including the dot dot dot I just did. You will find these and more in the Character Palette on your Mac, in then past you used to use a utility called KeyCaps.

You can access the Character Palette two ways:

(1) From within Mac OS X  apps - Mail, Stickies and more, choose Edit from the menu bar, then choose Special Characters.
