Gradients in Table Cells

Quite a few peoplee get confussed and frustrated by the way InDesign applies gradients inside text frames. Yes, I know the topic is gradents in a table cell, but remember that tables are still always inside text frames.  When you apply a gradient swatch to anything in a text frame, InDesign “places” the gradient as though the gradient stretched across the entire frame.

Adobe CS3 on Snow Leopard

A lot of you may know that Apple is releasing Snow Leopard the newest OS for the Macintosh. From that a lot of quesions have come up on the older version of the Adobe Suite CS3. John Nack says "Adobe does no't officially support CS3 on Snow Leopard".

Rules are Amazing!

Recently someone asked me with help highlighting an entire paragraph. They were trying to use paragraph rules, but if the paragraph was not always the exact same number of lines, the colored background would break. The solution envelopes a combination of a custom underline and paragraph rules.

You may already know that Preview is a terrific application for viewing PDF files. But did you realize it’s also great for annotating PDFs? It’s a fast and efficient way to share comments when collaborating on group projects.

Drag & Drop Layers Between Documents

Layers enable you to do all sorts of things in Photoshop. You can even use them to copy layered imagery from one document to another. To copy layers between documents, drag and drop the layer from the Layers palette in the original document to the canvas in the target document. Then, use the Move tool to position the image in the target document while the layer is selected in the Layers palette.
